After completing my government service, I worked as a Medical Officer in a busy Emergency Department in Johannesburg. While there I completed a Diploma in Primary Emergency Care. Seeking a new adventure, I joined a cruise line where I performed a range of duties as Senior Doctor on board. Whether it was managing the “Public Health” of the souls on board, or day-to-day care of guests and crew, I was fortunate to work with people from all over the world in my travels.
I have been a General Practitioner since I returned to land in 2018.
Credentials & Awards
Medical Education: MBBCh – University of the Witwatersrand, 2011
Residency: Helen Joseph Hospital/ Rahima Moosa Mother & Child Hospital Complex
Certification: DipPEC – Colleges of Medicine of South Africa
Practice Philosophy
I believe that everyone should have access to quality medical care. As General Practitioners, we should lead the way in helping people manage illness and use the best available evidence to guide our decision-making and referrals.
Why I Love being a Doctor
I believe that a person’s context, or “story” is a dimension to medicine that is often forgotten. As a GP, I enjoy being able to build a relationship with people and often whole families so that their medical needs have as little negative impact on their story as possible.
